GTA 6 release date
GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Preloading opens on November 10, 2026, nine days before launch.
When exactly does GTA 6 unlock?
Rockstar has confirmed the date, November 19, 2026, but not the exact time. Most big console launches unlock at midnight local time in each region, so players in New Zealand and Australia get in first and players in the Americas last.
If Rockstar instead picks one worldwide release moment, the usual choice is midnight Eastern Time. That would be 9 PM Pacific on November 18, 5 AM in London and 6 AM in Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin on November 19. We will post the confirmed time here as soon as it is announced.
When can you preload GTA 6?
Preloading starts on November 10, 2026 for anyone who pre-ordered the digital version. Preloading downloads the full game ahead of time, so you can start playing the second it unlocks instead of waiting on a huge download on launch night.

Which platforms is GTA 6 on?

Was GTA 6 delayed?
Yes, twice. Rockstar first revealed GTA 6 in December 2023 with a 2025 release window. In May 2025 it moved the game to May 26, 2026, and in November 2025 it delayed it again to November 19, 2026, saying it needed extra time to finish the game to its usual standard. The November 19 date is the one Rockstar has stuck to since.
