Is GTA 6 on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. GTA 6 is only released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version, and none is planned.
Why GTA 6 skips the old consoles
PS4 and Xbox One launched in 2013, the same year as GTA 5. Their processors and slow hard drives cannot stream a world as dense and detailed as Leonida, with the crowds, traffic and lighting shown in the trailers. Building for PS5 and Series X|S only, with their fast SSDs, is what makes that possible.
Can a PS5 play the PS4 GTA games?
Yes. PS5 is backwards compatible with almost all PS4 games, including GTA 5, and GTA 5 also has a native PS5 version. Xbox Series X|S plays Xbox One games too. Your old library comes with you.
Cheapest way to play GTA 6
The Xbox Series S is the lowest priced console that runs GTA 6, followed by the digital PS5. Before buying, read best console for GTA 6 and GTA 6 on Series S.
